I wanted the old style "weed burner" headers for my C-Cab. I could not find
anyone that sold them. I did find a couple of people that would build them for
me. When I mentioned stainless the price went up outrageously. In the early
1970's I worked for Hooker Headers for a couple of years so I decided to build
them myself. Made the flanges from 3/8" stainless, bought a bunch of 90 deg
stainless bends, lit up the TIG and went to work. The following pics are of various
stages of the process and the final results. Took almost as much time to polish
as it did to weld them up. The real trick was the muffler inserts. Polishing the
intake is next. I could not find a tri-power intake already polished.
